How Solar Works for Residential & Commercial?

Solar power works by converting light from the sun into electricity. This electricity can then be used in your home or exported to the grid when it’s not needed. This is then fed into a solar inverter which converts the DC electricity from your solar panels into AC (Alternating Current) electricity.

QUICK FACTS: RESIDENTIAL:

  • Residential customers are pre-approved. Three phase customers – 7Kw inverter capacity (9.6Kw array size). Single-phase customers- 5Kw inverter capacity (6.6Kw array size).
  • The premises use the generated solar power first, any remaining generated solar power is exported to the grid. You are credited for this exported solar power at the same rate you purchase power for.
  • Solar systems generally pay for themselves in 2-3 years, and have a life expectancy of 15-25years.
  • Installing a solar system is a simple process for you. Katherine Solar NT is your local licensed solar installers and electricians. Installing only quality gear to last a lifetime of power producing, bill busting, green electricity for your home.
  • The STC rebate scheme is available for any new residential solar installation, and is shown as an up-front discount reduced from the price of your system.

QUICK FACTS: COMMERCIAL:

  • Commercial customers are pre-approved for a 30Kw inverter system with nil export.
  • Any excess solar power that is not used, cannot be exported.
  • Systems larger then 30Kw (inverter size) require a site inspection via a Power Water engineer.
  • Solar systems generally pay for themselves in 2-3 years, and have a life expectancy of 15-25years.
  • The STC rebate scheme is available for any new commercial solar installation, and is shown as an up-front discount reduced from the price of your system.
